Achieve a Blue Belt

A Blue Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is no easy task. Jiu-Jitsu has one of the most difficult rank achievement systems in the martial arts, with Black Belts awarded on average in 10-15 years of study. There are exceptions to that rule, but rest assured that those students who seemed to "fast track" were on the mat 7 days a week, training hours each day.

By the time you earn your Blue, you will be able to competantly handle yourself in nearly any situation. While it may seem to be "only" the second belt in Jiu-Jitsu, it's a difficult rank to achieve, and a respectable rank to hold. The experience you will get for putting in the "mat time" will pay dividends in the skills you will learn. Jiu-Jitsu will become easier and easier as you start to understand the concepts behind the techniques
